About the Author
Becky Stern is the Director of Wearable Electronics at Adafruit. Each week she publishes a new do-it-yourself craft+tech project tutorial and video and also hosts the YouTube Live show "Wearable Electronics with Becky Stern." She's been combining textiles with electronics since 2005, and helps develop the Adafruit FLORA wearable Arduino-compatible product line. She's been shooting video since age five, and sewing since age eight. Becky studied at Parsons The New School for Design and Arizona State University and teaches at School of Visual Arts' Products of Design grad program.
Tyler Cooper is a creative engineer at Adafruit Industries, where he helps develop the Adafruit Learning System, and other Adafruit learning tools. In 2010, he co-founded the open-source hardware company Coobro Labs. He's also co-owner of the Minneapolis, Minnesota, makerspace Nordeast Makers.

Made for your first project, but with great tips for pros.

As Wearable Tech books go, this one is stellar. Just the right mix of How To and Why it works that way. The FLORA has become the standard in wearable design thanks to it's on board USB and LIPO battery ports. Becky and Tyler have really created a great book that although it says "Getting Started" on the cover, really covers all aspects of working with a Flora. (Including Analog Input )
It covers washing your wearable project which makes it 5 stars.

Great book about Wearable Tech and E-Textiles

This book perfectly explains the connection between the world of textiles and the world of electronics. It contains precise technical descripitions and complete explainations of how sensors for Wearable Tech work. Inside you will also find simple, but very effective prectical tips to make your project work better and last longer. It is a must for beginners and for professionals.

Great intro to wearable electronics

Becky Stern is a champion. She is pioneering the use of microcontrollers that are embedded in the things you wear and she's sharing her progress so you can take the ideas further. This book is an overview of the technology and a project to get you going on your way. It's a quick read and a good introduction to wearable electronics, sensors, and the tools and skills you'll need to make your project take off.
