About the Author
Gary Casey has been actively involved in product development and manufacturing for all of his 45-year career. After growing up on a farm in Iowa and graduating with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University he joined General Motors. Always the inventor with many patents to his credit, he applied these innovative principles to assignments of ever-increasing responsibility.

A Book Where Logic and Commonsense Prevail

The author seems to have an uncanny way of making the complex become so simple. Perhaps it is from his many years of new experiences. Do you ever find yourself caught in a rut, forced to follow mandatory systemic processes and committing them to memory through repetition just so that the bingo box gets check off by an auditor without full attention or comprehension of the big picture? This book provides a refreshing look at many engineering tools and processes used by many companies on daily basis. The book provides logical, common sense approach that make needed tools and processes more useful, fun and interesting; the product or processes more robust, and in turn making your company and thus yourself more money. While many excellent "real-life" examples are provided, the main take away is how to develop one's own logic and commonsense so you can provide more exciting meaning to otherwise routine daily activities. If you love the challenges of engineering, quality, and manufacturing, enjoy thinking "outside of the box" then this is a "must have" book for your own library. If you learn just one thing from the book then you received well more than your money's worth. How can you go wrong?
