I loved this book because I know real people like the ...

This book made my heart smile. I don't want to give anything away, as I want other readers to experience it as I did, but you may want to throw away any preconceived ideas you have about what a "witch" is. I loved this book because I know real people like the characters. I loved this book because I could feel the love between the two main characters. I loved this book because based upon it's definition of a "witch", I am one too. :-) The magic in this book is real... and we all have that magic inside of us.

Not Witchy

I was intrigued by the title, which suggested intimate knowledge of what true witches do, but to my surprise, it wasn't anything like that. It was more of a new age book written from the perspective of a young teenager who had to deal with an inaccurate rumor regarding her mother. I was already familiar with many of the new age topics that she brought up and I could sympathize with her feelings about wanting to have forbidden chocolate snacks, like Snickers, for example. The love story between Harmony and Jamaal is charming and innocent. It is full of enthusiasm and references to items that are popular with teens in today's times. I recommend this book to young teens who want to broaden their minds about diversity.

About the Author
Robert W. Cherny received his BA from the University of Nebraska and his MA and PhD from Columbia University. He is professor of history at San Francisco State University. His books include COMPETING VISIONS: A HISTORY OF CALIFORNIA (with Richard Griswold del Castillo, 2005); AMERICAN POLITICS IN THE GILDED AGE, 1868-1900 (1997); SAN FRANCISCO, 1865-1932: POLITICS, POWER, AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (with William Issel, 1986); A RIGHTEOUS CAUSE: THE LIFE OF WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN (1985, 1994); and POPULISM, PROGRESSIVISM, AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF NEBRASKA POLITICS, 1885-1915 (1981). He is coeditor of AMERICAN LABOR AND THE COLD WAR: UNIONS, POLITICS, AND POSTWAR POLITICAL CULTURE (with William Issel and Keiran Taylor, 2004). His articles on politics and labor in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries have appeared in journals, anthologies, and historical dictionaries and encyclopedias. In 2000, he and Ellen Du Bois coedited a special issue of the "Pacific Historical Review" that surveyed women's suffrage movements in nine locations around the Pacific Rim. He has been an NEH Fellow, Distinguished Fulbright Lecturer at Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), and Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Melbourne (Australia). He has served as president of H-Net (an association of more than 100 electronic networks for scholars in the humanities and social sciences), the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, and the Southwest Labor Studies Association; as treasurer of the Organization of American Historians; and as a member of the council of the American Historical Association, Pacific Coast Branch.

Gretchen Lemke-Santangelo is a professor of history at St. Mary's College and the author of DAUGHTERS OF AQUARIUS: WOMEN OF THE SIXTIES COUNTER CULTURE (2009). Her research interests include black migration, feminist theory, race relations and ethnicity, and urban poverty. She received her Ph.D. from Duke University in 1993.

Richard Griswold del Castillo is professor emeritus of Chicana and Chicano Studies at San Diego State University. His recent books include CESAR CHAVEZ: A TRIUMPH OF SPIRIT (1997), THE TREATY OF GUADALUPE HIDALGO: A LEGACY OF CONFLICT (1992), and NORTH TO AZTLAN: A HISTORY OF MEXICAN AMERICANS IN THE UNITED STATES (with Arnoldo De Leon, 2006).

I wouldn't call it a recipe book as it is just one recipe, but George goes into detail on how to make the item, showing you all the ingredients and how to put them together. This is much better than just a recipe listed with directions. The pictures are what make these single recipe books worth the price.

An excellent project management book

2 Not only focus on the exams but also focus how to apply the Prince2 practically to real-life projects.
3 Each topic in each chapeter demonstrated clear linkages with other Prince2 processes.
4 I learn a lot from the book, and just passed the foundation exam.

Review of Prince 2 study guide
By Frustrated only a little now
This book is so much easier to understand than the official Prince2 Manual. It gives good examples that you can relate too and some hints on how to use the official manual. It covers everything in great detail so your not missing out on anything. I find myself turning to this now when I am stuck on a question and think I might actually stand a chance of passing the exams with the help of this book. My only criticism is that the additional tools are no good if you have an apple mac. Maybe the author needs to upgrade them.

Fantastic prep for the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

I picked up this title following the purchase of the official manual and passing the Prince2 exams title. Between them it was all the study I needed for both exams, following up with some practice exams at the APGM site.

The study guide presents the information in a different format and level of detail to the manual which gave me a strong grasp of concepts, some of which I hadn't picked up on in the first read through of the manual. It also provides guidance on how to prepare and manage yourself during the exam. It boosted my confidence and I'd highly recommend anyone studying for the exams picks this up at to supplement their learning.

Alice Goffman spent six years in one Philadelphia neighborhood, documenting the routine stops, searches, raids, and beatings that young men navigate as they come of age. In the course of her research, she became roommates with Mike and Chuck, two friends trying to make ends meet between low wage jobs and the drug trade. Like many in the neighborhood, Mike and Chuck were caught up in a cycle of court cases, probation sentences, and low level warrants, with no clear way out. We observe their girlfriends and mothers enduring raids and interrogations, "clean" residents struggling to go to school and work every day as the cops chase down neighbors in the streets, and others eking out a living by providing clean urine, fake documents, and off the books medical care. This fugitive world is the hidden counterpoint to mass incarceration, the grim underside of our nation's social experiment in punishing Black men and their families. While recognizing the drug trade's damage, On The Run reveals a justice system gone awry: it is an exemplary work of scholarship highlighting the failures of the War on Crime, and a compassionate chronicle of the families caught in the midst of it.
